Teaching and Learning
After School Club
Our after school club provides a safe and happy place for children aged 4-11 to rest and play after school. We offer various activities including arts and crafts, board games and toys, outdoor games, quiet games and reading so that all children can find an activity to engage and relax them. \the emphasis is always on choice to allow each child to play freely and happily. Weather permitting, we encourage children to play outside as much as is possible.
Immediately after school children enjoy a healthy snack of bread, various spreads, fruit and a drink to help fuel them for their play.
Staff to children ratios as low as possible to ensure the safety of each child while they are in the club.
Sport
Children play a range of games and sports at our school, learning and then applying skills in individual and team settings. We have specialist sports coaches within the school and we are also lucky to be able to use the skills of visiting coaches from other schools within the Multi Academy Company to ensure that our children maximise their sporting potential.
There are sports activities after school where children can either participate in specialist activities like gymnastics or take part in competitive sporting events against other local schools.
Music
There are many opportunities for children to learn different musical instruments. Every other year children in years 3 and 4 are taught how to play the violin. Guitar is taught every week to children at various stages in the school and we are always seeking different ways to allow our children to develop further their musical talents.
French Club
Our French club runs after school every Tuesday. It is open to children in Years 5 and 6 and provides a valuable opportunity for children to practise and develop the language skills that are taught in the classrooms.
